Academy of Medical Sciences NI Diagnostics Day

We were delighted to welcome everyone to our “NI Diagnostics ABC – from analysis to business to care and careers” event which took place at W5 LIFE recently.

Hosted by the Health Innovation and Research Alliance NI (HIRANI) and funded by The Academy of Medical Sciences and the Wellcome Trust, the event was focused on showcasing examples of translation of diagnostics to impact in Northern Ireland; facilitated learning and knowledge exchange by bringing together diverse clinical-academic professions working with industry and other disciplines.

It connected early career researchers from Academia, the HSC and companies in the Northern Ireland Health and Life Sciences Ecosystem, with research leaders including Academy of Medical Science staff, Fellows and FLIERS for networking and seeded future researchers for collaborations.

HIRANI CEO, Joann Rhodes said “We were really happy to bring this brand-new event to NI to which highlights the significant impact that the NI Health and Life Sciences Ecosystem brings to diagnostics in the UK.”

Speakers from indigenous industry, academia and health along shared case-studies and took part in multi-disciplinary panel sessions to explore contemporary issues in diagnostics and opportunities for early career researchers in Northern Ireland.
