Official launch of MHRA-NICE aligned pathway and integrated advice service
From the 1 April 2026, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) will fully open the aligned pathway and an improved integrated scientific service. This follows a commitment in the UK government’s 10 Year Health Plan and Industrial Strategy for MHRA and NICE to work collaboratively to bring medicines to NHS patients 3 to 6 months sooner.
In October 2025, we shared early plans for these services. Since then, user research and early engagement have shaped how they will work and helped to refine key benefits for different users. Through this webinar, MHRA and NICE leaders will now:
Explain how the aligned pathway and integrated scientific advice service will operate
Share how user insight has influenced service design
Outline key benefits for large and smaller pharmaceutical companies
Provide practical guidance on when and how to apply
Set out how the pathway will be evaluated and continually improve
