HIRANI are supporting Accelerating FemTech which helps early-stage companies, university spinouts and entrepreneurial-minded academics focused on women’s health gain the commercial and funding momentum they need for long-term success.
This national support programme helps early-stage companies, university spinouts and entrepreneurial-minded academics with bespoke support, targeted workshops and mentoring. The accelerator aims to support 20 innovators, with representation from both academic and commercial backgrounds, and will enhance product development, entrepreneurship skills and stakeholder engagement across the NHS and academia.
Participants will also be supported to prepare for a special closed-call funding opportunity through the Innovate UK Biomedical Catalyst (BMC). This is delivered alongside the collaborative learning programme and facilitated networking with key NHS and health sector stakeholders across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
In 2023, alumni from the first cohort of Accelerating FemTech were awarded more than £1 million in funding through the BMC. Support for successful applicants to Cohort Two of Accelerating FemTech will run from November 2024 to March 2025.
Accelerating FemTech is led by the Health Innovation Network (HIN) South London with Innovate UK and Medical Research Council funding as part of the BMC, and is supported by a collaboration of partners including HIRANI in Northern Ireland.
