Neurovalens, a Belfast-based medical device company and global leader in non-invasive neurotechnology, has secured £6m in new investment from British Business Bank bringing their total investment raise to over £20 million.
The new funding will drive US growth, support entry into new markets, and facilitate ongoing research, accelerating our mission to make life better with non-invasive and drug free solutions to some of the world’s biggest health concerns. The fund was designed to support innovation and companies with high growth potential. Neurovalens now have two FDA approved medical devices available in the US and this new capital will be used to rapidly scale there.
Dr Jason McKeown, CEO of Neurovalens, said: “Neurovalens develops non-invasive medical devices that treat a range of health conditions by delivering safe electrical stimulation to targeted areas of the brain and nervous system. Unlike traditional treatments, our devices are drug-free and don’t require surgery, making them more accessible to patients at home.
“Our current portfolio includes FDA-cleared devices for chronic insomnia and generalised anxiety disorder, with a PTSD treatment awaiting FDA approval following successful clinical trials. These conditions affect hundreds of millions of people globally, and existing therapies often fall short in terms of effectiveness, side effects, or accessibility.
“We’re delighted to have the support of the Investment Fund for Northern Ireland (IFNI) and our other new and existing investors at this key stage in our journey. This funding will enable us to significantly scale sales of our current medical devices, and also to extend our product portfolio through additional FDA approvals. Our technology offers an entirely new approach to treating serious global health challenges through safe, non-invasive neurostimulation.”
