Everyone welcome! As part of the HIRANI Mentoring Programme 2026 sponsored by Roche Diagnostics UK & Ireland, we are hosting our first webinar in the series “From Mentoring Conversation to Innovation Progress” on Friday 4th September at 10am online.

Hosted by Hassan Chaudhury HonFAPM, Commercial Director at DATA-CAN, Expert in Residence, London Institute for Healthcare Engineering, and Sean O’Connor PhD, Cluster Innovation Lead at HIRANI, this webinar will connect mentoring conversations with practical next steps in innovation and commercial development.
Hassan will talk to the Laws of Adoption and Scale, as well as:
- Misalignments in healthcare
- Rework will kill your culture and your runway
- Why ‘pull’ matters
- How to build in adoptability early
Hassan is an advisor who has worked and lectured globally in digital health. He has a bootstrapped exit as a founder of a real world evidence agency (Health IQ acquired by CorEvitas in 2019), which exported to over a dozen jurisdictions.
He was then appointed as the Global Digital Health Specialist at Healthcare UK (a joint initiative of The Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England, and The Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade), developing the national offer for digital health for inward investment and international trade across 96 countries for 4 years (2018-2022).
He served as Head of Commercial at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust from 2024-2025, and has served as Commercial Director for DATA-CAN – the cancer real world evidence network for the UK since 2022.
He is a co-founder of The Equity Project (TEP) Charter School (a community initiative for more equity in digital health), and a founding Committee Member of HIMSS UK & Ireland.
He is currently Digital Propositions Lead for Medica (UK and Ireland’s largest teleradiology company), Head of UK & Ireland for Welcome Health Ventures, and an Expert-in-Residence at The London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE), at King’s College London London and Chair of the National Council, Data Observatory CIC.
The session will explore how innovators can identify and navigate critical milestones across areas such as evidence generation, regulation, funding, strategic partnerships and market adoption.
The aim is to encourage participants to reflect on where their innovation currently sits, identify the key facilitators and barriers to progress, and consider how mentoring can support clearer decision-making, stronger commercial thinking and focused action.
