Our first HealthTech Leaders forum of 2024 took place in Belfast following a roundtable event with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), hosted by Invest Northern Ireland, discussing the update of medical device and IVD regulation for NI and industry challenges.
The Healthtech Leaders forum talked about the MHRA and DHSC perspective on supporting NI Health and Life science sector and new opportunities.
Roisin M. Molloy CEO and founder at TriMedika highlighted the difficulty in navigating different regulatory groups and Clare Guinness CDir, CEO of Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce called for a dedicated NI contact within the MHRA.
Investor and Chair of the US Life & Health Sciences Advisory Board to NI, Mark Goldstone highlighted what investors look for in regulation before committing to a pre-revenue company.
